    Story?

Do people have a breakie or skip it?

My fave would by a big bowl of Frosties that have been let go soft cause they've been in the bowl witl milk for ages, all the toast I can eat (O'Briens thick Sliced bread is the best for this NYOM) and a good mug of scald!

Failing that, Crossaints and Jam = Yum! The tea is a must.

More often than not, I have a Capri Sun/Orange Juice of some sort to start and it lasts me until the mid morning scone.

    All the best!

Personally I cant touch breakfast, if I do get a breakfast anywhere, ill just look at it and poke it around for a while before binning it (or feeding the dog with it).

Oddly enough I cannot touch orange juice in the morning, it makes washing your teeth an experience, big long sticky stringy spit that wont leave your mouth no matter how hard you blow. That said ice cold apple juice is a great pick-me-up in the a.m.

I rarely have time for it really... Grabbing a grain bar of some description and a bottle of fruit drink in the station is as close as I come weekday mornings, and if I'm in a hurry there isn't even time for that.

However... weekends, wake up late, take a shower, cook a full Irish fried breakfast and eat it reading a magazine or something. Nothing like it to set you up for the day smile.gif

i have time for a bowl of museli....but one unable to keep a 16 year olds hunger at bay.
my favourite would be a big, really healthy fry for brekky, only having one fry brekky in a few years can't be good for me...

I love breakfast, I'm just to disorganised to get it most weekdays. Have to wait till 11 for my coffee and pastry.

Still, if I do have time, a good cup of scald is the essential thing. I'll tell you something, if you want to have great tea every time, buy a water filter and only use leaf tea in a tea pot. That's yer only man. Teabags are far more hit-and-miss. I switched to a water filter recently and the tea always tastes great. I can't make tea at work, it always tastes like someone's boiled cabbage in it. frown.gif

Weekends are the time for breakfast, pop out to the French bakery for fresh pain au chocolat or croissants. NYOM. Or even better, a nutty bap with rashers, salad and mayo (her) or veg sausages, cheese, fried onion and american mustard (me) all eaten with two huge mugs of tea on the sitting room sofa under a quilt watching kids TV on a Saturday morning. My little bit of heaven. smile.gif

no breakfast means 4 minutes extra in bed... so i usually have nothing. theres nothing there anyway.. these days i just take a swig of coke and that'll do. i love some cereals, especially an american one called Capn Crunch which would make me get up early, but its all gone and i couldn't be bothered going to the shop.
sometimes i get a cream cheese bagel when i'm at work.
but if i were in ireland atm i would haved a fryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Try to have Breakfast every day (It's the most important meal apparently) Weekdays its just a bowl of cereal. but at weekends Its a full Fry complete with rashers, sausages, white pudding, toast, fried egg, tomatoes and possibly mushrooms. you cant beat it!

I could never get the hang of the "Fry-up" thing - I don't like hot food (except t0ast) in the mornings.

Only once do I remember having a fry in the morning and it was actually more like 12pm so that doesn't count (we'd been on an unmerciful session of beer the night before - 20 pints kind of mark).

I never bother with breakfast myself when I have to get up and go somewhere. And if I don't have to get up in the morning, then I generally won't get up until 3 or 4 in the afternoon, then I just wait until I have my dinner smile.gif. So, although I love breakfast, I rarely have it, although, if I stay up all night, e.g. an all-night LAN, then one of the nicest things has to be calling into somewhere that will give me a huge fried breakfast on the way home, then falling into bed shortly afterwards for a day's sleep.

Proper Butcher's thick rashers - lightly grilled, nutty brown bread lightly toasted so it folds well - buttered with a bit of Kerrygold (proper butter that stuff - better for u in the long run, those spreads contain compounds of polymers/plastic), bit of Chef Ketchup on on side, bit of Colman's mustard on the other. Nowthis is important; the mustard muct be the power stuff you mix up your self. It'll take a bit of skill to get the concistency right and it must be left to stand for at least 4-5 mins. its ready when its aslightly darker shade of pale yellow then the stuff in the tin. Apply this to the free side of the rasher. Fold, and consume with a mug of Barry's tea brewed in a pot (though Kieran, your stuff sounds good too).
Optionally you may wish to grill some tomatoes and add them in too, thought the slice of toast needs to be larger to accomodate these.
Also Gerkins are lovely with rashers too.
For a change replace rashers with good sausages. Denny's or galtee won't do. the must come from the butcher in one of those white plastic bags or those grease proff sealed pouches that loads of Delis have now. If your butcher is posh.

I have to admit I'm not really a breakfast person either. If I'm nervous about something in the morning, there is no way I can eat. The most common thing I do is get up (for college @ about 8:55) and have brekkie in the canteine @ 11, which consists of a breakfast roll and a contour bottle of coke. If I was to have proper breakfast it would be Crunchy Nut Cornflakes (coz they taste soooo goooood), 2 slices of toast (brown bread), and proabably 2 mugs of coffee (cappacinno if it's anywhere to be seen).

I h8 fries. I am not a big red meat person, so the idea of rashers makes me sick.

    So there ya go

    ;-phobos-)

Why do I feel that there is some kid sitting in his room taking down all the little details that I post about myself on the boards.ie, such as breakfast trends, fav movie or knowing how quickly I can become paranoid. Then someday the the little bollix will walk up to me and say, "Hey phobos ya fu<ker, THIS IS YOUR LIFE!". Think about it!.

My typical breakfast would generally be the delicious treat prepared by Messrs Benson and Hedges; if I get my lazy ass out of bed early enough however, it's a few bowls of cereal, Weetos or Frosties for preference (I'm a teenage infant...)

Breakfast is the best meal ever. I look forward to it everyday. Sometimes I even skip dinner so I am extra hungry for breakfast the next morning.
Weekdays, I usually have half a grapefruit (sprinkled with sugar), cereal, juice, toast and tea.
Weekends I really make a meal of it. Sometimes it's a huge fry up with soda bread and a pot of tea to wash it all down. But as a special treat I would go dine out and have Eggs Benedict. If you want really good Eggs Benedict I would recommend three places in Dublin: Mermaid Cafe on Dame St.; Dish in Temple Bar and Odessa (opposite Stag's Head) in Dame Lane. YUMMMERS!

the best mug of tea has to be made with tea leaves.
though should you not have any to hand, Barry's Gold Label comes a close second. Fastest runner up is Lyons Pyramid tea bags (don't even ASK me why the shape of a tea bag makes any difference but it just does - trust me. I am a tea addict). Tried green tea in the morning for a while (health buzz) but it just didn't do it for me. Back to the milky stuff for me.

I think it's cause I was absent from the Hell Desk for a couple of days and since we were the only department actually bringing any money *in* to the company, that couple of days lost productivity was the crippling blow.

Infact, I think it was ICG's fault - that project was so over-due, e-pe0n wasn't even getting paid for it by the time we died. FÚCK YOU PADDY ROCK! (I thyink that was the guy's name) curlydav.gif

Disclaimer: I hold no grudge against Datalex PLC, Irish Continental Group PLC or any of their employees - It was Míchéal's fault.

couple of vitamins washed down with a glass of orange juice, strong cup of coffee and a smoke during the week, decent breakfasts on weekends : fry up or croissants, or bagels...although we don't get bagels as nice as they are in the States. Lovely.
