Andrea Bocelli Concert, Malahide Castle, 17th July 2005

In conjunction with the Andrea Bocelli concert at Malahide Castle on Sunday next, 17th July 2005, Gardaí wish to advise concert goers and motorists of the following:

Free Car Parking is available within the grounds of Malahide Castle. Directional signage will be in place and patrons are advise to follow these signs. Any cars illegally parked are liable to be towed away at a cost of €125 towing fee and €35 daily storage fee.

Public Transport - Dublin Bus, DART and commuter trains will operate to/from Malahide as per normal Sunday schedule. An extra northbound DART will operate leaving Connolly Station at 18.45 serving all stations en route. Dublin Bus will also put extra busses into service on the No 42 route before and after the concert.

Patrons are advise to use public transport where possible as long traffic delays can be expected in the Portmarnock and Malahide areas.

Gardaí are advising patrons not to leave property visible in their parked vehicles.

Motorists should allow plenty of time for their journey and aim to arrive EARLY. Traffic approaching from northerly areas along the M1 should turn off at the Swords interchange and follow the signposts for Malahide. Traffic using the M50 should continue along the N32 and turn left when they reach the Malahide Road.

Concert starts at 8pm and is due to finish at 10.30pm.

Any further queries regarding traffic restrictions should be made to Malahide Garda Station, telephone 01-6664600.
