Hey all, firstly thanks for all the support for the last month. Honestly I dont think anyone back home can appreciate the emotions that fly in that situation. I certainly wasnt ready for it. It was just great to have people get behind us and keep us going, particularly just as I was thinking "ah sod all this!" :) I meant more then I think you could know.

A special thanks to the players who accomodated us and never ONCE snapped or barked at us when taking chip counts. In fact most of them called us over and had a good chat and a laugh. I wont list them because I'll forget someone but all the irish players really pulled together for each other and that made a big difference to everyone I think. Pokerstars sent 1100 players over and got 4 to the final 3 tables, we sent less then 40 and got 2.
(I put a bet on with the Pokerstars guys that we'd outlast them... g'wan the andy, he made me 50 bucks :) )

All of that strengthened my belief that Irish poker is something we should be proud of and deserving of support.

    So, now what!?
In the next few months we're going to put our hearts and souls into Antesup.com and work our "10-minute-timeout"-ing bollocks off to make it something to be proud of. With the help of PPP.com and a few other special friends, we want to raise the bar and solidify the community similarly to how I believe Boards has done since the forum here started. I wont go into details but I think we've only started... :)

We'll be looking for writers, reporters and anyone else who thinks it might be fun to get their thoughts out there. So if you are interested please drop us a line. We'll have a few interesting novel ideas in the next 6 weeks and hopefully it wont be long before we get some live games going too.

If you are running a tournament, please mail us. We'll list all tournaments we hear of. If you want us to do a report on it, we'll try our best to accomodate you.
In short, we'll be keeping the site as up to date as possible and to do that we need communication from the community itself.

In short, thanks for getting behind us, heres to the future and we hope you aint seen nothing yet...

    Tom and Mike.

Have to say guys you did a great job reporting back from Vegas. LMAO at some of the stuff. And it's made me more determined to make the effort to get out there myself next year.

Poker in Mayo is still 5 card draw dominated but more and more the word is spreading so you can find regular games in Kiltimagh, Castlebar and Ballina.

Still prefer to play with the dubs though [ god help me]

But if there's anything I can do... I'm up for it.

the antesup boys. As a recent arrival on here and to poker in general, long time lurker though, I have to say fair bloody play to the boys on antesup. It was great following what was happening in Vegas, cant imagine how tricky trying to keep all the balls in the air was but I think anyone following it got more idea of what was going on than should have been humanly possible. Keep up the great work

Just to add to all the plaudits being heaped on Tom and Mike: Brilliant coverage in the WSOP, and best of luck with Antesup.com. By the time next years WSOP rolls around, it should be in great shape, and I have a feeling there will be a lot more boards members there to report on as well!

Well done lads, great service and fair play to you.
Wondering if you will be doing a report on the actual event itself and how you felt it was run by Harrahs on their first year.

There will be a full report of this years WSOP going up at somepoint in the near future. It will contain the good, the bad and the ugly.

Tom, Just wanted to add a small note thanking you for a brillant report of the WSOP. You were just as f***ing shattered looking as i anticipated when i saw you in the Fitzwilliam on Tuesday night. A wonderful job was done by the Antes Up Team and long may it continue. You should certainly sell copies of the picture of you with your sunglasses upside down (Not as cool looking as Andy Black) but it was brilliant. How to looked manky drunk in one foul swoop.... Anyway don't forget to try and get some sleep

Omg I was so drunk in that picture. The upside down sunglasses actually WORK, very nifty little trick but definitely not me really...
I remember trying to explain to Dave O'C that he had to press the button and hold it still. He'd taken 3 shots before he realised he WAS pressing the button :)

    DeV.
