It's a load of crap! I tried it and hated! Got rid of it after less than a few hours of using it!

How are programs like this meant to work anyways? does onspeed do a google like search of the net compress to 1/5th its size ever single webpage they find and wait for you to try and access it?

I have two friends who have gotten this and they find it a really good stop gap measure while waiting for broadband. It's definitely not a replacement or even an alternative to broadband but it does make dial up a lot more bearable.

Images are messed up on pages though so it would be no good for certain sites

that's the big pitfall of it! I hate the really bad quality images that you get as a result of this!

Onspeed uses a remote server to download the requested page for you and then compresses it before sending it to you.

Text pages compress very well and should load far quicker....already compressed data(jpg/mp3) will have no speed improvement.
Get it if you browse pages upon pages of pain text all day...otherwise it a waste!

Onspeed is a bunch of arse, and you can take your referral link and shove it right up your hole.

Yeah it's a load of ****, all it does is compress images, the main culprit in pages taking ages to download/open. If you're trying to download anything whilst using onspeed (like a movie trailer) it won't be any faster than regular dial up, they should be done over false advertising on their website

MP3 files, flash, and Mpeg4 for video available, achieving a 300% - 500% speed increase. You will automatically get notified when this occurs.
Woo! I can't wait til my mp3's sound like crud aswell!
