Our hosue goit a bill awhile back from bt for 26 quid. The only thing is we are with utv not bt.
We changed our phone from eircom over to utv when they brought in the the free off peak calls. So now we have our broadband and phone with utv, everything is with them.

Bt claim we owe them this 26 for some calls made awhile ago. Nobody in the house signed up with them so we havent a clue whats going on. They rang today and said they will be getting a solicitor involved.
Does anyone have any ideas what could have happened here?

BT have screwed up their billing system again? It's not the first time they've sent out incorrect bills from what I've read.. however billing a non-customer would seem to be a first.

Has it got a breakdown of the calls etc? Ask them for one..

Ask them for the customer contract they have for that address, they have to show it you by law under the data protection act

Ask UTV what happened ? They have to authorize any change from themselves to another provider.

Then ask BT for a copy of the contract you "signed".
