Same boat as ricey I meant, I've the exact same set-up as him (and by the sounds of it, the exact same headaches...)

Anyway, got it sorted with a reinstall of the linksys PCI card in my desktop, network up and running finally. Only took the two days... :o

And after two days of plain sailing, neither my laptop nor my desktop would connect to my network this morning...

Both failed to aquire network addresses, and ended up with an IP beginning with 169. (can't remember the exact address) I tried the Zyxel modem/router on its own with an ethernet cable and that wouldn't work either. Have had to uninstall the laptop wireless adapter, and do a hard reset of the Zyxel, and am now connected through the Zyxel (LAN) while me wireless gear sits idly by.

    The original setup was:

Zyxel (Prestige 623) modem/router connected by ethernet to Linksys WRK54G broadband router. [Zyxel LAN switch connected to Linksys internet switch]

    Zyxel set to Bridge mode.

Linksys wireless network with laptop and desktop connected.

Linksys router with IP of 192.168.1.1
    Laptop IP 192.168.1.100
    Desktop IP 192.168.1.101

Both computers set to obtain IP automatically, depending on which I booted first they alternated their IPs.

It worked for two days then stopped, I suspect the connection between the Zyxel and Linksys to be the key. I want to try leaving the Zyxel with its original settings and the Linksys on Bridge mode, but how do I set that up on the Linksys?

    Thanks in advance.

Mine is fine now no more problems at all.
try setting the router`s ip to 10.10.10.1 (linksys)

and i dont think the zyxel should be on bridge mode so id
say put it back to routing.

try it let me know how you get on.

Sounds to me like your WRK54G locked up overnight. If you're not getting a 192.168.1.X ip address, the communication problem is between the WRK54G and your wireless clients. It has nothing to do with the Zyxel.

The WRT54G is a reliable product - maybe you can trade up.

I'm gonna contact linksys to see what they say. I bought it as part of a notebook wireless kit, it came with a wireless card for the laptop.

The router worked with the laptop on a wireless connection for a few days, the problems only arose after I connected the desktop. Since then its been up and down... :(
