dvd audio problem

    For some reason theres no audio coming from either of my DVD Roms . I put an audio cable from one of em to the soundcard there a minute ago and still nothing. Anyone got any ideas?

    go into device manager and look at the properties for the dvd drive, there should be a checkbox saying enable digital cd audio, try that

    In what context exactly? It doesn't play audio from DVD movies or won't play audio from audio cds? Please clarify.

    Its weird. If i try and play a backed up movie the sound works fine, but if i play a rented or original DVD theres no Sound at all.

    hmm, try some audio cds in it, also try playing the movie in different players, media player, media player classic, vlc etc, and then tell us what happens

    Plays Audio CDs no problems. Tried Windows Media player and Power DVD for playing The DVD's no audio from either from either of them

    more than likely the problem is with the dvd, try a different dvd, i have the same problem myself, every now and again i get a dvd that simply refuses to work in my dvd rom, but it'll play fine in the dvd player, and dvd shrink wont rip it either because of encryption
