Okay i have had enough of this, it's been on my mind now for awhile...can someone tell me whats up with the sudden echo or community of parrots that has arisen around Boards lately?

I have noticed in a large number of threads that people are copying what the previous person has said multiple times! What's the story??? Am i missing out on a new fad?

There was a poster called Parrot some time ago that used to echo what previous posters wrote. He got banned.

The echoing thing was done to me by blitzkrieg, its really childish, I reported the instances of echoing in each respective thread, and not one thing did I hear back about it......

It has been reported on mod forum (off a seperate issue), so it probably being looked into. Which probably explains why I have been banned from the pirates forum (which doesn't stop admins).

To be honest, all we have ever done is had a laugh. I know for a fact that regi has been in the forum. If the mins have any problem i've no problem complying with suggestions.

I banned you for not having the courtesy to bring your complaints to me. I would have taken them seriously.

1. I didn't even realise I had access. I was doing a search on something else and noticed it.

2. The posts in question have been around for quite some time and the suggestions would get people banned in general for it (eg. Harrassment/Spam). So telling you about them is unlikely to do anything if nothing has been done by now.

3. On nearly all the questionable threads are comments like "Oh we are probably going to get banned for doing this, but what the heck" (sic).

As far as I could see despite mods of the forums saying they are not getting involved did nothing to stop it.

I disagree. If I had been aware of this annoying people, I would have put a stop to it instantly. As it is, we were trying to get some of the more silly threads {see: 'Do you smell down there?' by Sandals} moved to the Cuckoo's nest. We were spamming the spammiest threads around, we didn't think it would bother anyone.

I also said on Blitzkrieg's thread that I did not approve of mass stalking, and if it was to be done it was not to be done under the banner of lubnip. Unfortunately, some people have ignored this.

I don't know exactly what you mean by this. Are you referring to me saying I wasn't going to get involved?

At least one thread has the persons name in the subject and the content clearly has people listing ways of trying to get them banned or annoy them.

Another thread asks for members of that forum to harass another member even citing the persons real name to use in those attacks. In this instance the tread even links off to the person they are harassing.

Those are independant of the stalking/parrotting and spamming on threads which should of been left alone.

We haven't set out to piss anyone off or make anyone feel bad. We decided to attack idiocy with surrealism. Maybe it has appeared to you that we were trying to score some points or something, i'm not really sure. All we wanted to do was give someone a fan-club, say 'arr' to someone who insulted a friend, and do piratey things on threads we thought would be binned or sent to the nest. That was the extent of our coniving.

That incident happened before lubnip was created. It has nothing to do with lubnip.

What about the crap in After Hours that is from people who post mainly here? I just find it odd that you are upset about spamming of already crappy threads. We're not dancing on the bible here.

Anyway, I closed the threads and have warned everyone to cut the nonsense. I'm sure After hours will be back to it's witty, coherent and well-written self in minutes.
