Was anyone else suprised by Hopkin's defeat? I suppose it had to end sometime. I wonder will he look for a re-match. truly a legend.

He only had himself to blame tbh. Too lethargic from the start and only stepping on the gas the last three rounds. Probably will be a re-match and if he can be arsed this time he will win

I agree 100% and if he had only realised how poor he was maybe he could have KO'ed Taylor in one of the last three rounds he shook him up a lot but he often then retreated instead of being relentless .

I don't think Taylor was particularly good in this fight, just that Hopkins did less than usual. I suppose that's natural for an older guy but surely he felt the fight was slipping away...

Just read that the rematch isn't likely to take place on October 1st as previously thought, due to the damage Tayler sustained from the accidental headbutt. Could we see Hopkins fight past 41?

He made a promiss to his mother (who I beleive is now deceased )not to , but I get the feeling he will .

If he does win a rematch before January, then retires, the middleweight division will be in a right state. I wouldn't be surprised if he decided to have a few more fights. I could be wrong but didn't he once say he wouldn't fight past 40?

Yes but I think he meant he wouldn't fight at 41 (which was his definition of past 40 , mine would be 40 years and 1 day is fighting past 40 )

Winky will clean up the division for a little while at least if Hopkins does retire

Speaking of Winky, there's some interesting talk of him fighting Mayweather. Fightnews.com seems to think there's some truth to the rumor...

If hopkins pulled out the finger he would of won. I dunno what was being said he the corner, but they really should of told him in the last 3 rounds he needed a knock down.

I think he will win the rematch. He hurt taylor on a few occasions, and looked like he could floor him a if he really went for it. Taylor didnt seem to have that ability.

Magee was robbed big time aswell, ****n disgraceful decision.

As for Macullagh, massive shame. Feel asleep during the fight and only woke up just as he went to the corner at the 10th round :o so dont know if that was a bad decision. Still though, at least he can say he was never knocked out in his carrer. Thats an amazing achievement.

I actually wouldn't want to see this fight sanctioned , I feel Winky is simply too big for Mayweather and if though I hate Floyd I don't want to see him end up brain damaged or anything like that . Floyd started as a Super Featherweight remember .

Magee was robbed big time , ****ing Germany and its crazy judging decisions .

It said on Sky News this evening that Hopkins is appealing the decision of one of the judges. Personally I missed the fight, is he being a bit of a sore loser or has he a strong claim?

I don't know everything about his claim but aparently Duane Ford scored the 12th round for Taylor  , if thats what he's appealing I think he has a case as he beat on Taylor for the whole of the round all Taylor did was be hit .

Yeah heard he awarded the 10th to Taylor  Christ you have to wonder what direction some of these judges are facing at these fights

Hopkins landed more punches in the fight, though it sure didn't look that way when it was on live. Hopkins is appealing though whatever happens he'll still want to fight Taylor again, just to settle things.

if taylor was awarded the 10 and 12th fights thats another ****n disgrace of a decision. Saturday wasnt a great night for judging was it?!
