I wouldn't really expect something like that from The Village, but it's one hell of a coincidence, that's for sure.

I must say I haven't paid much attention to the publication since shortly after its launch, it appealed to me but at the same time I like un-bias news and current affairs and The Village is proudly left wing. I must pick up a copy and see what it's like now. I think Browne's speed in jumping to the defence of Sinn Fein got to me a bit too.

I already posted my comments about this on the Sigla site. Ironic that Vincent Browne dictates how proper journalism should work in his opinion piece in the Sunday Business Post.

both pieces are topical. what's curious about the second one is that it quotes from what was sent in to them.

As I suggested on your site, why not post what you sent them in full and what was in their article?

d - i've linked to both the cycling article i submitted to village, and the revised version of the blogging piece i published on sigla. i obviously cannot link to / post the actual pieces published by village. that village ended up covering two topics i tried submitting to them is not really an issue. they're topical pieces, coincidences like this are bound to him. what i found hardest to accept on friday was that a piece i submitted to village should end up being quoted in village, especially after its submission to village hadn't even been acknowledged. that seems a pretty unusual coincidence. but then, unusual coincidences do happen.
