hey these are very noob questions, but im quite lost here!!!

got a pod v2.0 the other day, which is fantastic! but i was under the impression i could record through the midi outputs on it to my mac, is this true?

i have a midi to usb cable but cannot get either my Keyboard or Pod to recognise on my mac? any clues as to whats going wrong.

finally should i have got a cd or software with my pod, i though sounddriver or something like that came with it?

thanks guys, again sorry bout the stoopid questions.

Midi doesnt send sound information, it lets electronic instruments communicate with each other, for example, a midi footpedal into your pod 2.0 would let you change patches on the pod with your feet through midi.

Nothing is going wrong that your mac isnt detecting it, as it isnt a plug and play in the traditional sense of the word. If its hooked up right programs like cubase or sounddriver should have no problem interacting with it.

The sounddriver afaik lets you upload user patches which you download off the internet too you pod via midi. And no these arent stupid questions, we all had to start somewhere :)

I havnt used garage band yet but I would say so. In cubase its a simple procedure of setting the physical keyboard as the input for the track I want the keyboard to be on (the list of inputs wont show the actual keyboard, just a list of the midi ports the computer has.) and setting the software keyboard to be the output of the track.
