warning on taxback companies

I won't name names but I have recently seen a number of companies handing out leaflets in Dublin trying to get people from overseas that are working here temporarly to sign up with them. I had a bad experience with them so I thought I would post a warning to others here.

The idea is that when you leave they claim back your tax from the governement in return for a small % of it.

When I worked in Australia I was having trouble getting my employer to issue with me a tax statement saying how much I had paid so I signed up for one of these companies (Dublin based) becuase thwey promised to take all the hassle out of the process.

I didn't here from them for months and then they wanted copies of tax statments I had already explained I didn't have. They asked me 4 times for copies of things I had already sent them. As I was travelling it kept costing me money to send them to them.

Eventually they managed to sort it out (but believe me it would have been simpler to do it myself!) but then they couln't pay it into a bank account unless it was irish. I was still in the process of moving here so I had to wait until I had opened an account to get the money. Amnyone who had been working here but left would find they would have to pay them extra to get it put into an overseas account.

For a company that claims to male life easier, they should be done for false advertising!

They make life easier for lazy, stupid people.

Filling out a few forms is easy. But most people are too lazy/dumb to do this (as in life, most people are lazy/dumb.)

It sounds like you didn't really need them.

But I think they do provide a good service to... retards.

    ...

If it's the company I think you're talking about (starts with a T... ends with a k) - they are a legit company. I have been dealing with them for about two years. I'd say you just got stuck with a bad customer service person.
