If you get anywhere near that I'd be very surprised.

You could sell it for a profit, but you would be ripping someone off.

A laptop at that spec would cost around €700.

Not when you see the offers Dell have on cheapo PCs.

You won't sell that at a profit. In fact if you make your money back I will be very, very surprised.
At least not on here anyway ;)

Girlfriend got a P4 3GHz, 160 GB hard drive, 512 DDR RAM, and 17" flat panel monitor (all shiny and new) from Dell for €700.

I know you are offering a desk, scanner and printer, but these things really wont add much to the price. I'd be happy to clear €500 if I were you...

You will do well to get 400.00 for it. I bought a similar one from Dell over a year ago for 369.00

The games don't add to the value. HL2 won't even run on it.

You should aim about 10% more then you realistically expect to get. So around €550

Ill put it up for 550 so, thanks guys, any ye want it try the buy and sell.

Anyone who could build that pc oughta know its a pile of crap.

A PC with better Spec can be gotten from Dell for about 400 quid.

You might rip someone off, if you even sold it for 400, cos thats way too much for such an ancient pc.

You should be ashamed of yourself!

PS - that won't run HL2, and if it does, its be at the very, very lowest settings and probably choppy...

Is that legal copy of XP Home one that came with a pre-built pc or did you buy it retail?

retail, wanna buy it seperate, the sticky isnt even out of the pack yet.

The value of anything is, by default, what someone is willing to pay for it.

Therefore if the parts cost 550, and you take a reasonable profit and sell for 700, you can hardly feel giulty about ripping someone off.

Whether you will get 700 is a different matter, but there is no reason not to try. I sold a somewhat similar dell without a monitor in January for 300, and it is the best I could get. But with your extras you should try the b&s for 700 or so.

Perhaps you made a mistake with the components you purchased, if you paid a little more e.g. more ram etc you may be able to make a profit.

TBH though, who can compete with Dell for low/middle range computers? Reckon you could be competitive against an XPS alright though, but have fun finding people with 2k+.

If you sell that to anyone for over 500 you should be ashamed of yourself

You would also be ripping yourself off. How the hell did you manage to build that for so much?
