What helmets do they wear in Senior Hurling?
Someone told me it was a Cooper something skateboarder helmet that's not manufactured anymore.
    Is that bullsh!t?

Im not sure about it being a skateboarder helmet but yes Cooper helmets are the best and are what is worn . Although as of next year players will not be allowed to wear Cooper helmets a minor level and below only Micro .(which the new ones of don't look too bad )

Ronan Curran, Cork hurler is after making his own helmet. It's pretty much the same as the cooper, same shape and all and looks a lot nicer than the mycro. I have mycro myself and to tell you the truth I'm sick of it. It's extremely uncomfortable!

Is he not the person who designed the new Mycros , which are now basically the same as the Cooper style helmet without the gap on the forhead ? , a friend of mine did say it was a Cork hurler who designed the new mycro helemts so most likely it was Curran .

the reason Copper helmets are no longer made is that they were deemed unsafe and failed a number of safety tests. However, what mainly caused it was an ice hockey player in canada getting his head smashed open when his helmet received a blow and failed. The player sued Cooper, judge deemed helmet unsafe and the helmet moulds were destroyed.

Who'd want an old Cooper anyway? They are 1960s technology and are just unsafe
