    Hi -
Has anyone here ever used these guys http://ire.cxcglobal.com/ to sort out taxes and paperwork when doing freelance contract work? It seems like an answer if you don't know anything about taxes and stuff, but I'd like to hear from anyone who has used 'em before.
    Thanks!

Yes good old CXC. I've been with them for almost 2 years now. They're pretty good. Althought recently I've been a little dissappointed their level of service and the amount of problems I've had but I think thats probably just me submitting lots of expenses.

What I've discovered over the last while as my rate has increased is that the more money you're making the more money they charge you and I worked it out for me now its cheaper to hire an accountant to check over my books at the end of the year. PM if you want anymore details.

Thanks so much for the reply, JP Mulvano -
I've passed that info along to my friend, who is thinking of going with them. I guess he can stay with them for a while, while he figures out how to take care of his taxes and stuff himself, just using an accountant at end of year, as you are doing.

I'm also with CXC...and funny enough for almost 2 years also!

They are ideal if you are contracting for a short term(less than a year).

Saying that I have no intentions of setting up a ltd. company now.
I find that using them removes all the hassle of operating a company for contracting purposes.

I'm lucky that they have a special rate with my agency and so my fee hasn't changed a cent in two years :D

I think as someone that has contracted long term with them you try and negotiate the % that they are taken each month. After all their documentation does say that they can alter the rate for big value or long term contracts.

JackieChan would you mind sharing what agency your with(By PM if neccessary). I´ve been going back and forth with CXC about getting them to drop my rate a little or set it at a certain level, It´s currently set maximum at 280 per month which I think is ridiculous. I could hire a full time accountant for that price. I know theyve done it for other people but I´d like to be able to present them with some more cases.

Think it´s time to go it alone anyways, 2 years is enough.

On another note I do find them quite willing, if in a shooting yourself in a foot way, to answer all and any questions I have about setting up my own company.
