My Mam sent me a message yesterday and said someone had called her saying that she had won a holiday to Florida and they wanted her visa card number to cover costs(what of i dont know, perhaps postage) but because i have drummed it into her never to give any information out to anyone, she hung up the phone. They claimed to be a company called Antiga Holidays, Florida, USA. Has anyone else experienced this as of late, or has it been going on a while? I know i used to get text messages saying i won, but never calls. Im only going on what she told me by the text, must give her a call sometime and get more details. Apologies if this is the wrong forum :) thanks

Its a scam, don't give them any details, they will screw you. Last year we got a similar call from a crowd imperial majesty cruise... got the missus to answer a few questions about spending habits etc, told her that she would be entered in a competition to win a cruise. Guess what? next day she got a call to say he won a cruise from florida and they needed a credit card to cover small administrative costs.... I got on the line and polietly told them to f|_|ck off. The missus went mad about how I just lost us the chance for a FREE cruise, but after doing a quick google and showing her the results she didn't say another word!!
The cheeky bastards rang us again last night, I played them out for a while acting dumb and when they asked for details gave a fake name / card number. (When they rang they asked for the name that is listed in the phone book, i told her that we had just moved in) Any way when they couldn't get any authorisation on the bull**** card details they rang back and got the old "f|_|ck off" once again. I wonder if they will ring again next year????
