I have used slayers v2.6 and just want to know if i play a game with an auto dash update in it, will it effect the evox dash if play it in retail or modded mode.

Same question as above except if I copy the game to the HDD.

Also if I play a game in xbox live (while in retail mode) that has these updates will it effect my xbox.

One last question, with X2 4983 does that bios block a game going on xbox live if the mod chip is turned on.

    Thanks if you can help...

Make sure the chip is OFF when going online, it's not hard though, you cant really forget if your xbox loads any other dash then the MS one :o i got banned on one of my xbox's agggges ago, cause i forgot to turn my x2 off.

Ya know that, it is just these auto updates that are on some games, I have hear there was a update on Halo 2 that could corrupt your evox dash...

Halo 2 does not perform an autoupdate so that's okay. Very few games do. Sometimes a game will update your dash if you select the xbox live option and attempt to sign in (regardless of whether you have an account). The only files they touch however are on the C drive (and maybe the inconsequential Udata and Tdata folders on E)so if your evoxdash.xbe is on your E drive then you will be okay. Even if it is on C it is possible to reflash the modchip with a BIOS that is set to boot from e:\evoxdash.xbe instead of c:\evoxdash.xbe.

To check this out ftp into the xbox and see where the evoxdash.xbe file is located.

I've never used a Modchip so there might be an easier way to check this out. The NKpatcher softmod uses a virtual C drive so any changes made by updates do not affect the real C drive

Thats fine then, my evoxdash.xbe is on my E drive is it is ok.

they'd update the default.xbe on the root of the C: drive.
