Hey, I just built a new PC but i want to put the old Hard disk into the newly built PC.
The Hard Disk is Win XP home. but when i put it in it wont even let me boot up in safe mode, it keeps restarting.

    Anyone got any ideas?

Hmm, I'd say its just that windows cant deal with all the hardware changes, is that hardware alot different from the old rig?

    Format and reinstall everything.

What you are trying to do is put a dogs brain into a cats body...it dosent know its ass from its elbow!!!

correct me if Im wrong but was the point to keep all your old stuff?
Are you satisfied with the size of your old HD? You can buy (relativly) huge HDs for dirt cheap right now. Lidel are even selling them.
Get one, install it as the master and set your old HD as slave.

You'll have all your old stuff plus loads of new space

Have to say i recently moved a hard disk from a p4 2.8 865 to an athlon xp2.8 nforce 2 without much trouble. Only reason i did it was to preserve ulster bank internet banking which caused me huge headaches before on my last move, for the auld pair though.

    500th post for me

FYI, to move ur ulster bank internet details from one Pc to another simply copy the file xxxxxxxx.der from C:\windows\java where xxxxxxxx is your internet banking account number.
