Busking

As usual, the topic's come up with a few friends of mine recently, and I was wondering did anyone have any funny stories, suggestions, or warnings about busking? Anywhere particularly good to go, and how much money did you normally end up with? (our goal is enough for drinks, I think - soft drinks, basically a fiver...)

A guy I was talking to at a party told me about how, after the U2 gigs, him and a friend who busk often were just out playing "One" over and over and over again. They ended up with €110 between, though €50 of that was some drunk Polish lad.

I used to busk on O'Connell street in Limerick a few years ago when I was in UL. It could be very hit or miss, usually depends on the weather. If its hot people are in higher spirits and would give heaps. Once we made over 30 euro between three of us in about an 45 minutes. Another dull dreary day we made the price of a cheeseburger, not even covering the bus fair out of the city again. Always had to be wary of the skobes who would come try and rob the money from your feet.
