Just got back from the Merrion 50euro re-buy. Was no more than a collection of bad beats.

    3rd hand in got dealt J 9
limped in and seen a 10 Q K flop (rainbow)

before I can even think of how to play I get two all ins ahead of me :D
    I call and I'm up against K Q and J 2.
King on the river and I need a re-buy...

A few hands later and I get aces. All in ahead of me with 9 9. I flop an ace and he gets runner runner straight (jesus!). Luckily I only lost half my stack so it wasn't too bad.

Built up my stack to about 4,000 (2K starting).
    Got dealt KK
    flop comes 4 7 K (rainbow)
    player goes all in.
    emmm I call!
he happily turns over A A
    turn A
    river A

    Anyone notice a pattern?

Anyway I don't mean this to be a rant about bad beats cos I really dont mind. Its 1 bad night in the middle of a great few weeks so fcuk it

What my point is, is that the Merrion has always been horribly unlucky for me. All my worst beats have come from there. I once lost on aces 3 times in 1 night there! had a poker beaten by straight flush etc etc...
It's just unbelievably unlucky for me. Every time I go down there I lose money. EVERY TIME!

Just wondering if anyone else has any casino or any other place which is consistently bad lucky for them

The merrion is obviously rigged :D

just an unlucky night, can't say I've felt a place is particularly against me all the time, but my pet hate hand at the moment is KK, haven't won the last 12 times I've had them. Doesn't matter what my strategy is limp, call a raise, raise, re-raise, push, they always lose. Even completing the set on the flop doesn't help, twice in the last week I've hit the set on the flop and been outdrawn by a straight on the river.

    I hate cowboys :(

My question is why 2 people would push so early in the game one with two pair and one with pair jacks crap kicker / straight draw?

    J 2 pushed first (steal?)
2 pair called him. dont think she knew I was still in it.

brave effort at a possible steal, that was a right kick in the crotch for 'em eh :D ?

Was sitting two to your right on table 4 but I saw your J9 beat earlier so we'll allow you creative licence on the above ;)

Went out myself after the break when I check raised all in from utg on a flop of AQJ holding KT getting called (only for 75% of his stack) by KQo, turn K river Q. Not to worry, you'll loose that hand a whopping 6% of the time, on the plus side I'll get a decent nights sleep. I've never been particularly in love with the Merrion but it seems Wednesday is my only free night at the mo so I'll be back. Consider playing this tourney if you have nothing to do on a Wednesday, the standard is fairly shocking tbh, Dragon can confirm :)

yeh, i didnt mention the hand I got knocked out on cos it wasnt a bad beat. same sort of thing the Kings got beaten by a flush . that wasnt a bad beat though!

all the beats happened before I got to table 4. I just lost the last hand cos he made the flush. always a chance when a third club comes on the turn

all those beats did actually happen before I went to table 4. surely you heard all the shouting!!

nice to put a name to a face anyway!

Unlucky by the way! seems skill dont matter for **** in that place :)
