I personally hated that form of Maths in college. I was more into geometry. Why do these guys who like discreet maths have to be bi or married though?

What are other people's fav type of maths?

I liked continuous maths and abstract algebra.

Are you exclusively into discrete maths or is it something you do alongside your continuous maths?

I've always been a proud supporter of Trigonemetry and Coordinate Geometry.

    Pssst What's going on here?

I knew the T issue would crop up again!

I loved it tbh, even bought a book on it to read at my leisure. Don't like some of the combinational maths that seems to come under the same heading thought, You know, the ****e used to work out the number of operations in an algorithm. That said, I do enjoy linear algebra.

Ah you missed the whole "Do we invite trigonometry under the umbrella term of mathematics" debate.

I liked the bit about adding fractions. Tough but worth it.

Yes it would appear that I did. Ah these matters escaped me and now I look the twonk on the internet again.

EDIT: MY first comment sort of fit the bill, should have kept my big mouth shut.

Damn it no, trigonometry is not part of general mathematics, it has it's own unique identity and should be allowed explore it, without being draged down by things like states. Besides what the hell has sin cos or pie ever done for us. (well really pie one of those "unsure" fookers, it's all over general maths like a...)

Pie makes you fat, fat and round like a circle.

And as soon as you get serious and introduce it to your parents, it's gone.

Nothing wrong with discrete maths, tho calculus is more fun, IMO.

Yes, but what if you think the relationship can't get any better but you're actually stuck in a local maximum and a bit of discrete maths can help you get onto the next plateau? ;)

I suppose this topic was bound to turn into nerd jokes ;)

So, was this a bizarre freudian slip, or just some mod being mean?
