As most people know now, euphony are giving away free local and national calls, so im gonna switch, but in order to get the internet free i need a dial up number that's either a local or national call.

I have an 01 number but i want one closer to monaghan, maybe in the 04 area? thanks in advance

When I used iol dialup there was a load of local numbers to choose from for Dialup.

If you want the installer(numbers database) then just ask.

just as a heads up, they've probably been all disabled for that reason.

The last time I used dialup with those numbers was about 6months ago and it was working fine for me.

Dialup takeup has actually increased over the last year, so disabling those numbers would actually loose, what is now BT, a lot of customers!!!

Granted that installer must be from 1999/2000 byt that is the best reason why those numbers are still active...legacy cutomers.

    Give it a try djmarkus.

24hours a day dialup.....................you'll cost your provider thousands!!!!!

    Oh what have I done....hahahaha!!!!
How much will my calls cost?

All calls to all Ireland landline numbers are free of charge for the first 60 minutes and are charged at 3.7c per minute thereafter. Please note that this excludes calls to non-geographic numbers such as 1 8XX, and premium rated numbers etc.

Get a prog to automatically disconnect/reconnect your dialup every 55minutes and you should be fine.

Found an opt out for euphony:
Is there a maximum limit to the number of FREE calls I can make?
No, there is no maximum limit on calls for residential landline customers. However, your usage must remain within the accepted levels of a residential customer.
    What are these acceptable limits???

Will this work, will they not have them flagged as isp or anything?

Well its a geographical number, so that would be breaking the T&C's, i used to use a programme called tick:http://www.reallyeffectivesoftware.co.uk/tick_moreinformation.html
which can disconnect when the duration of the connection reaches a value, and you can set windows to automatically dial up when its required so thats a solution.
