Where to stay in Dublin? (B&B, hostels, ...)

Could you suggest inexpensive places to stay in Dublin?
Is there a list of B&Bs with boards.ie user suggestions and experiences?

Since there's 2 of us, a B&B probably would be the best choice.
And, since we are w/o a car, place close to the center would be nice.
But it boils down to how much it costs - as getting there is not cheap either. :mad:

PS Does PPS in tarrifs mean that you pay this amount for each person staying?
And if so, are there B&Bs that have fixed price per room, not per person?

OK - it does not have to be B&B. In fact, breakfast is not needed, just place to stay overnight.

Anybody has been staying in Dublin and can suggest something?

Problem solved for now - will stay at house of friends of a friend.
That's the best way.

But information about places to stay is welcome anyways.
Will certainly be useful - for me or for somebody else here.

I'm surprised there haven't been more responses to this.

You could try Dublinks for places to stay. There's a load of hostels and b&b's in Dublin. Bottom of Gardiner St. in particular, is a popular place for tourists to stay.

"€40 PPS" generally means €40 euro each for the room.. ie €80. There aren't very many places that will charge per room.. Jury's Inn might be the exception, but I can't say for definite.

Many other boards.ie forums have sticky posts containing valuable information about the subject of the forum.

So speaking about lack of many responses to this post, I would have also expected to find a similar sticky post here. One reason for why there are no responses or no sticky post might be that people on this forum already live in Dublin or have a place to stay there, so they do not care (or can't suggest anything).

But I could not find a forum that would suit my question better than this.

P.S. Speaking of places for tourists - it'd be even better to find a place for students to stay. As it might be ok to pay 80 euro per night (2 persons) if you are a tourist, but what to do if you are a student [ = not a rich tourist ] living somewhere else in Ireland and need to go to Dublin for 4-5 days?

Its always worth checking out the University on Campus accommdation which normally offer both bed and breakfast rates and self catering. I know Trinity College does this, and you couldn't get more central!
