    does anyone know if the nct ppl examine rust thoroughly?!

    They poke and prob at a suspect area to see if they can break through but usually they just worry about the condition of the sills or Chassis rails.Rust on panels like wings and doors are not so serious as long as the nct tester cant cut himself on exposed metal/rust so you can just cover these with Gaffa tape and it should pass.

    They do examine it but evaluating rust is quite subjective.

    If there is bad pitting, flaking or a hole on a structural body part you will fail. Even on non structural body parts such as the bonnet there are rules eg you're not allowed have advanced rust within a certain distance of the bonnet latch.

    I got to ask, how bad is the rust ?, where is it ?, what sort of vehicle is it ?, and what caused the rust ?.

    its on the drivr door, its a ford fiesta, about a square inch in size and i dunno wat caused it. and theres little bits of rust on the back.
