Heres the odds (from paddypower.ie)for this weeks games, i've put them in like this

    =====================================
teamA v teamB teamAwin Draw teamBwin
    =====================================
    Monaghan v Louth 2 - 9 10 - 1 4 - 1

    Cavan v Meath 11 - 8 13 - 2 4 - 5

    Sligo v Clare 4 - 7 15 - 2 7 - 4

    Dublin v Laois - 10 - 11 13 - 2 6 - 5

    Derry v Limerick 8 - 13 15 - 2 13 - 8
    =====================================

    what do ye think?
i think Laois and Limerick are the best value there, although i think that Derry are fav's to beat Limerick. Not sure on Sligo/Clare, don't think there as far apart as the odds would say, but don't think i'm brave enough to put money on it.

I think I would go for Derry, Laois and Cavan. Works out at about 15/2

Interesting to see that the bookies think there's little between Cavan and Meath. I think they've noticed though that Monaghan should hammer Louth. Only dead cert result this weekend I'd say.

I reckon Clare will beat Sligo, they have been training hard, they have a belief about themselves as well. Although, whenever people in Clare start to follow the footballers they end up loosing badly

    Monaghan v Louth

Louth are now 11/4....maybe the punters think differ to your toughts????

Louth have alot of players back from injury, and players that have returned to the panel etc!! It's the first time in about 2/3 years that they have afull strenght, almost injury free team....so dont be too surprised if there is a shock!! As i presume that monaghan will be over confident whereas louth have almost nothing to lose!!!

Louth will have to stop the twos Freemans and give away no frees as Finley an McElroy will slot them over all day!!! But Monaghan will have to keep Lennon, JP Rooney away from the ball too in the full forward line as these boys know how to hit the net!!!

VERDICT Louth  Mainly because im from Louth!!! But hI its worth a shot

    Cavan v Meath

Meath let me down last time out when they drew after 70mins VS Leitrim...I knew leitrim were capable but didnt expect that! Meath are very poor, and i dont rate Cavan too highly either so its a tough cookie!

CavAN nearly shocked all by nearly beating Tryone....exactly nearly!! and then got hammered in the replay

Both teams defence can be considered to be very dodgy but cavan will do well to stop Gerarty who is on fire lately!! Ollie Murphy back to the fore and done well against Leitrim when he came on...presume the same will be done again this weekend!!

The Bradys (dunno which one??) are good for Cavan + willneed a bid pereformance from their midfield to stop Meath getting the ball in quick to the f-forward line!!

    How they got here

    CAVAN
    Cavan 1-15 Antrim 2-3 (Ulster quarter-final)
    Tyrone 0-10 Cavan 1-7 (Ulster semi-final)
    Tyrone 3-19 Cavan 0-7 (replay)
    Cavan 1-11 Donegal 1-10 (R2 qualifier)

    MEATH
    Dublin 1-12 Meath 1-10 (Leinster quarter-final)
    Meath 5-12 Antrim 0-13 (R1 qualifier)
Meath 1-12 Leitrim 1-8 (R2 qualifier ? after extra time)

VERDICT Meath  i dont like them but they will proberly win!

    Sligo v Clare

Clare are on a high at the moment after beating Westmeath i would presume but so would Sligo after them beating Kildare! however both teams played against diminished sides due to injury etc!!!

Ronan Slattery is back from suspension and will be a big boost for Clare whereas Kenneth Sweeney and Eamonn O’Hara their midfield captain should both be missing for Sligo!!

    How they got here

    CLARE
    Cork 0-18 Clare 0-6 (Munster semi-final)
    Clare 0-12 Westmeath 0-9 (R2 qualifier)

    SLIGO
    Leitrim 1-11 Sligo 0-9 (Connacht quarter-final)
    Sligo 0-18 Longford 0-16 (R1 qualifier)
    Sligo 1-11 Kildare 1-10 (R2 qualifier)

Clare beat Sligo last year 1-15 to 1-7 in Round 1 of the qualifiers! Id be hoping for the same result

VERDICT Clare gets the Nod

    Derry v Limerick

I like derry and limerick aint too bad either!! Its al down to Paddy Bradley as ever however! When he plays good Derry play good! I believe that Limerick will not be able for Derrys Ulster style of football, i know limerick played well for a very long spell against Kerry but they dont have the consistant match winners required to raise the white or green flags!!!!

    How they got here

    DERRY
    Derry 1-17 Monaghan 2-8 (Ulster quarter-final)
    Armagh 1-11 Derry 0-10 (Ulster semi-final)
    Derry 3-8 Down 2-9 (R2 qualifier)

    LIMERICK
    Kerry 2-10 Limerick 0-10 (Munster semi-final)
    Limerick 2-15 Carlow 0-7 (R2 qualifier)

Derry beat Limerick by 0-10 to 0-6 in Round 4 of last year’s qualifiers! Should be same again....Limerick seem to stuggle against the "bigger teams" and i rate Derry as one them bigger teams!!!

    VERDICT Derry ;)

    Dublin v Laois

mmmmm....good candidate for a draw, both teams very alike in that they are love to attack! But mainly because i dont want the dubs to win im goin with Laois on this one! The dubs have not been great and in beating poor meath and wexford teams i wont not be confident with their form!!!

Laois were dirt against Offaly and should have lost but regained their form when they flittered Kildare!

    THE LAST CLASH
    Laois 0-16 Dublin 0-14, Croke Park (Leinster semi-final 2003)

    VERDICT Laois :)

    Rant over.....

Wooly69,that 11/4 your quoting is from Boylesports who have had Louth at 11/4 all week,Paddy Power has had Louth at 4/1 all week and the price hasn't changed. The reason why Louths odds are a lot skinnier in Boylesports is because they are a Co Louth bookmakers and have a bit more respect for wee county than the rest of Ireland do!
Not going to take Louth at 4-1 myself but i do reckon it will be a close game so i will be taking Paddy Powers rather generous 11/10 on louth(+4 points).
    C'mon Louth.
