    Codex Chaos is being re-made.

A lot of armies got a bad deal. The Space Wolves are now "Marines .. oh yeah .. and they like wearing fur".

At the end of the day .. its about tactics, not which army can get the hardest units

I collect choas meself, and omg they have not been givin a bad deal,my army can beat most space marine armies and the obliterators can easily blow uip a land raider within the 2nd turn,i think they made chaos almost 2 good,if a bit short in numbers.

hm maby youre right but chaos marines are way to exspensive for them to be anyway worth it atall the oblitorators are good but the rest of the army can be disected pice by pice while they kill the raider my motto is if its hard enough to kill a raider it whatever is inside it will finish it

If i remember right they have some cheap str 5 weapon with AP 3 and Assault 3 which , if you have a few of is a bit too good for raping marines .

But look at the numbers of eldar you can field compared to other armies (and their toughness). Not exactly the hardest bunch around. They're supposed to be more technologically advanced, so it stands to reason equipment would cost them less anyway!

The Tau are the same. They're VERY much tech'ed up, but up close and personal those big mech suits have WS 2. Not exactly the best in hand to hand!

I think the eldar were actually reduced in strength for one reason ... psychic powers.
The strongest weapon the eldar had were their warlocks and farseers. Now they've been relegated to nothing spectacular, they have to rely on guns. And as I've pointed out before, the eldar are not the most abundant of races in terms of numbers.

Eldar's army list is really flexible, and allows a large variety of amry types. They have some excellent weapons for going up against armour, but look at the shuriken catapult, sure its str4 and assault 2 but it's got only a 12" range!! Do you realise what a ***** that is?? You also have very very specialised army units, you have nothing as flexible as tactical marines.

The Eldar are a juggling act - it's really difficult to nail down a good Eldar army because each troop type is so specific in what they do - Banshees and Scorpions - Close Combat only. Reapers - Long range only etc.

Yes, they do get some cool stuff like a War Walker which is worth it's weight in Wraithbone (one shooty for Tanks and one shooty for Troops).

Range is a big factor for the Eldar - as Nesf pointed out, your Shuriken Catapult is Str4 and Ass2, but it's only ggot 12" range! eek.gif Talk about getting up close and personal - Eldar are out-ranged by nearly everything and they HAVE to move forward (that's why a lot of the weapons have a high Assault value).

Basically, the Eldar have to keep moving (except Reapers and Weapon Platforms).

    All the best!
