Hey just wondering who is heading down to the cork tattoo convention?
Anyone know of any artists doing some scarification work or more extreme stuff?
I am asking cuz the person that was ment to do mine has had to cancel her trip and I really was looking at getting some work done!

P.S just to let everyone know that,if you are planning on comming down for it,book somewhere now!
I am pretty sure all the central hostels are booked out now and so are the B&B's

It has just moved from Midleton to the city so it should be interesting and fun, been near all the pubs is also an advantage

Is there a website for it?

No,which is a pin in the ass!
I have e-mailed the guy incharge to try and find out who is working it.
I can guess alot of them but I wanna see if anything different is been done.

Well I'm definitly going down there....
hope it's back in midleton next year though, seeing as that's where I live and I like having something good ther for once!!!Has far as I know it's only for the city of culture crap though.

that's the link to the story of the 1st tatoo show, dennis dennehy organises it..

I'm not sure what artists are coming down for it, I would of presumed the usualy, although I heard months ago, some people were bouycotting it...whether that was this one or the dub one, I don't know, cos honestly it was months ago when my piercer was telling me, it was in the echo though....

hoping to get some work done yself, but piercings rather then anything else...I'd rather get tattooed in a parlour and I'm hoping to get some scarification done next year when/if I move to london!

Well I heard nothing about peeps not coming to the cork one as everyone I know loves the cork convention(in midleton or not) just cuz it is easy and cheap to get around.
I dont think it will go back to midleton cuz it is just getting too big, well I guess thats it?

PORN STAR- I cannot recommend snakebite more than enough!
I have been pierced by alot of piercers and they are great,I am not sure who is doing scarification this year but I will find out soon cuz I am looking at it.

I really like getting work done at the conventions cuz you get a really honest opinion on the piece before/during and after

Yeah, my own piercer has recommended snakebite to me, for work that she won't do on me...so I'm definitly getting a few more surface piercings by them this year.....there brilliant alright...
although, i do tend to get pierced by paddy odonogue when he comes down, but I've already had a surface piercing done by him that im not happy with...

can't wait for it though, must get time off work now...
although it has to be said I've seena lot of shoddy work done there too....I hate it when I see people going to places there cos there cheaper, and not asking them questions...I've seen some piercings done brutally!!!I'm looking forward to it though...last year they made all stalls have the same price for piercings so there wasn't any competition...but it was just for standard piercings...they didn't have any set prices for unusual piercinmgs...so i got them done dirt cheap by brilliant piercers....

hmm...I'm rambling...can't wait though...although my parents are dreading it...seeing me come home with yet more work done!

I wish they kept it in midleton...since i live there and all!!oh well...I still must get time off work!I don't think they'll be too happy...bastards are trying to get me to take out my piercings as it is...
still though, I'm looking forward to getting somework done all the same!

So does anybody know what studios are coming down for the convention yet??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 453 ✭✭irishcrazyhorse

Snakebite,AWOL,bodyshock, zulu and really all the same ones I am guessing.
I got a message off Dennis tellingt me that they have no-one doing scarification etc.. cuz they were warned about it cuz of insurance

do they usually do scarification at them???

I wouldn't eb comfortable geting it done at a convention anyway, i'd rather be in a studio!

It isnt common practice but it is done in certain cases.
I was thinking about it as I didnt want to travel to my artist like I usually do but I dont know of any that would do it at a convention in a walk in situation!
