Ibiza for oldies

Heading off to Ibiza for a week next month with a couple of mates and we haven't been before. One of those things I want to do before I become a complete fossil.

I want to avoid the whole San Antonio messy kids/bars/clubs buzz if at all possible (as I'm far too old for that kind of thing!) so looking for first hand recommendations of nice places to visit/shop/eat and things to do that won't cost the earth, involve too many gurning 17 year olds or cause my false teeth to fall out.

Will be staying in Figueretas (which I think is the 'pensioners' resort anyway).

    Many thanks

    K

island is extremely compact. You could easily walk (20mins) from
Figueretas to Ibiza town centre. Its too short a trip to merit a taxi. As well,
if you walk out of Figuretas town the other direction you will be practically on the runway on which you landed on!

Ibiza old town has got more older people defintely...its not all 17yrs
olds. Loads of traditional Spanish restaurants in old town - learn to love the smell of garlic though - smell of it reeks on every street (literally). Figueretas has your more your "chicken and chips" type places.

Hire a car there loads of non-touristed places on the island. Remember
the average "lager loving tourist" does not out venture of their resort so there is defintely the chance to see some of the "real Spain". Maybe pick up a copy of Rough Guide to the Belearic Islands to find some hidden gems.
