MS will give schools windows 98 or 2K licenses but only for PII's not for PIII's :(

Dell XPS-R's (PII) and XPS-T's (P-III) use very similar M/B's so can install Windows and upgrade the CPU (& swap over all other components like PC100 ram / video / drives ) if you want to stay 100% Legit.

    Start with PII 400MHz
Had to remove the heatsink plastic yoke, will mod that later with two holes to hold in the PIII 800MHz coppermine lugs. Will also have to swap the fans so the clips on the processor duct match.

    BIOS A09 and A13 both think it's a 500MHz Pentium Pro,
but CPUZ and Linux both say 796MHz :D

And you end up with a very slow T system but it could be upgraded ;)

[edit] it's easier to unscrew the four brass nuts holding down the plastic chip carrier and putting the White one from the T system in to the R system and visa versa. & http://www.powerleap.ca/Downloads/DellGuide.htm - Looks like the R system will go up to 1.3GHz
