I have that card and am using the rt2x00 driver, but under fedora core 3.

However sometimes when using the wireless card (as opposed to trailing the big wire through the house), Azureus will complain that it lost connection to uPnP device 192.168.1.1 and all torrents go to zero. This has only happened when using the wireless card. Has anyone else noticed this? If so how can it be fixed?

I am using a Linksys WRT54G wireless access point. It is against an (exteriour) wall. There are only one or two (iteriour) walls from the WAP to by PC. I was told this might have something to do with it. Could it? Or could it be the wireless card?

I got burnt buy buying one of the later models of the SMC2802 cards, its a v2 afaik.
Bit I got it working with ndiswrapper, my flatmate can get online fine through it, although it does disconnect for a second or two from time to time.
this whole wireless thing is confusing though
at the moment I have it set up as Ad Hoc and have given my card an IP address
What is the difference with an access point?
what is the advantage of setting it up as an access point?
