NetBSD network configuration

    Ok I'm a bit of a n00b when it comes to *bsd, having been spoilt with Linux's easy configuration smile.gif

    I installed NetBSD and configured everything ok, it can ping other machines on the network etc..but when I reboot, netbsd seems to lose all its configurations and wont ping anything but localhost. I've read through the installation manual and it talks about editing /etc/rc.conf, to include information about your ip and network interface, I did this but it didnt seem to make a difference.

    Any ideas?

    What did you actually put in rc.conf ?

    Somthing like the following should be all you need I think, (havn't played with NetBSD in a while)

    hostname="host.domain.com"
    auto_ifconfig=YES
    ifconfig_ne0="inet 192.168.1.111 netmask 255.255.255.0"
    defaultroute="192.168.1.1"
