MTT: Small stacks and large stacks - what do you do?

Say you're down to the last 3 tables of an MTT. You've got an average stack and you're sitting with a couple of short stacks and a couple of large stacks (like way ahead, 3x your stack)

Do you concentrate on taking out the short stacks, increasing your stack slightly, but moving towards the final table. Or do you try to take out the large stacks, bluffing, raising all-in over the top, etc? Or do you even have a tactic for this sort of thing?

There's no right or wrong answer here (I think), just a matter of opinion...

it completely depends on the player...

    If they are:

Tight, Short stacked: Rob 90% of the time!
Loose, Short Stacked: Stay clear until you have a strong hand.
Tight, Same stack as you: Rob.
Loose, Same stack as you: Stay clear unless you have position on them or you have a hand. This is a dangerous opponent, but you can get them to fold. Play big hands and selectively rob!
Tight Larger Stack: If you're gonna rob don't do it too often! They have the chips to call if they think you are messing.
Loose Larger stack: Only play them with the nuts!
