Sky Digibox Audio ??

    Hi guys I want to rip the oxegen concert thats on 2fm to my laptop, I have a wire with a microphone end and the other side is a red plug and one white plug. I have tried ripping from the sky digibox with Nero Wave editor but the distortion is terrible , what I wanna know has anyone got any advice.

    you need a stereo phono lead to stero minijack lead. connect the phono ends to the stereo output of your digibox and the minijack end to the line in of your soundcard. the distortion you're getting sounds like its a level mismatch due to you using the mic input of your sound card, which is more sensitive. once you correctly connect, adjust your line in level to taste.

    You could also reduce the sound of the digibox in the system settings.

    So basically then the distortion is occuring because I am using the mic socket on the laptop.

    if you are using the mic input then yes (you never specified.)

    you should be using Line in not mic

    Have tried this before myself, sound comes out very bulky, it's not too easy to get it right. It was just so more simplier with audio tapes.

    Might also be worthwhile to alter the volume on the digibox audio menu to see if that helps

    Thanks for all the advice lads , I did last night with line In and WM Encoder worked a treat it came out perfect.
