    Hi all,
Just looking for a CD ISO for booting outside of an OS environment that can format a HDD and create user defined FAT32 and NTFS partitions. Needs to be free.

    Thanks in advance,
    snappieT

Sorry, it's the laptop, so no floppy drive. Needs to be a CD.
    Thanks anyway.

    Other suggestions?

    Take a look at this:

    http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/

Easy enough to setup...but if you are comfortable with a little software manipulation then this is a great little prog!!!

You could always burn it to cd and add an autorun.ini file instead of using the bootable floppy. Just an added thought.
    Hope it helps

Hope it helps? Erh no it'll do far from that. autorun.ini has nothing to do with booting a cd from the BIOS, that's just making the CD autorun when it's inserted into the drive with an OS already running. I think it's been said before but check out Bart's PE. It's a program that helps you to create a Slipstreamed Windows XP Service Pack 2 CD OS that runs straight from the cd, like a Linux Live cd. Comes in very handy for me when I have to do maintainance on other people's PCs etc. Has all the usual stuff that Windows has (except the shell et all is replaced) with options to include ad ons like Firefox, Nero, Mozilla and all that kinda stuff.

Check it out it's really worthwhile.

You must know damn all about computer software programming!!!

I pointed at BartPe in this post:
    http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=3029493&postcount=5

Then Achilles, repeated my original proposal(must not have read my post...hmmm) and then you refer to it as shíte???

If you had bothered to look at the page, you might better understand how BartPe works....no that was probable too difficult!!

So say to you..."Ohh do grow up child."...as well!!!

Cool, thanks for all the suggestions. I'm downloading the Ultimate Boot CD as I type. It's a zip, I'm assuming there is an ISO inside.

make a bootable CD and use the boot disk when it asks for bootable media.
