Well I had previously ordered my NZXT case off scan.co.uk (I know I know, but no where else said they'd have it in stock anytime soon. And Scan said they'd have it in by Friday). Anywho, checked my email this morning and surprise surprise "Dear Sir, we will not be stocking the NZXT Nemesis case anymore due to substandard packaging. Your order will be refunded" etc. etc.

    God I hate Scan.

Anyway, if some people here could recommend me a case, it'd be great. Here's the requirements:

Black with a window (or a kit that I can replace the side panel with a window)
The front drives have to be covered by a door
120mm fans (3 would be nice, but I could settle for something for like 2x120mm and 1 or 2x80mm)
Has to be evil looking :)

Thanks folks. I'm off to check the rest of my orders to make sure none of them have imploded.

PS: Can anyone give any first hand advice on this sound card?

Get the thermaltake tsunami. Its all alluminium, 2x120mm fan with fan filters. It comes in black and silver with a window. Has a nice big alluminium door. Its an excellent case, i may be ordering myself one soon, YAY :) .

I think these are great cases, and for the money u get a whole load of features. The fan filters area great, as dust is a problem in most sytems. U asked for 3x120mm. This comes with 2 and then a 90mm in the window. U could easily just cut that plexi a little bigger and add a 120, nice easy mod :D.
    Hope this helps.

Tsunami ;) Here is one i made earlier :D Nice case with an extra added blue cathode tube! I also got the Thermaltake butterfly Power Supply which goes fantastic with the case coz it changes colours every 2 seconds and the window in the psu is the same as the case! Lights in PSU are not clear in the pics though. Also check out the mirror coating in the 1st pic :)

Only problem with this case is its extrmely noisy :( , you will have to mount the 120mm fans on soft rubber or whatever you can think of! With all the noise though is the most powerful cooling fans ive ever seen in a case! :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,240 ✭✭✭Endurance Man

Yes i have also heard the fans can get noisy. U ca buy rubber grommets and mount them on these or just get buy new fans and replace. I am also at the moment looking at this case, but i just cant make up my mind.

Its a tough decision. If i got the lanboy though i could also get a new logitech MX518 :D . What to do :).

Thanks for the suggestions. What about the Wavemaster? It's a nice looking case, and there's a window kit for it. But my only concern is the 3x80mm fans. Will they be enough to keep things nice and cool?

The Tsunami is a nice looking case. Although for anyone who ones it, is it really plasticy or is that just crap?
Aswell as that, any ideas if the LED's at the front can be taken off/replaced?

The wavemaster is a good case but has airflow problems. People complain that it just doesnt do a good job of cooling your stuff. Those 80mm do not do the job.
The tsunami is all 100% alluminium as far as i no. The door, side panels and chassis. There may be the odd bit of rubber/plastic. Not sure about the led, although i have seen a mod where sum changed them to green so im guessing u can.
    :)

Cool, thanks for the help. Looks like it's the Tsunami. I'll have a go at the LED's, don't see how it could be that hard!

There seem to be driver bugs with it but other than that it looks to be a good card. I dont thing you can go wrong with dolby digital encoding from the card thats 1 feature i miss from my nf2 mobo, here's a review and.....overclockers has them.

Ye, those 180's look VERY nice, i have only hear good things. Do they have them in ireland?? Probably going to be fairly pricey, but worth the extra cash.

The Viking isn't bad...but it's more "Rarr" instead of "Moohoohahaha" - if you get me. The Shark I had considered a while back, but I don't really like the curves on it. If there was a window kit for it, I'd snap it up. But at the moment I'm not really confident enough to be cutting holes in things :) .
The P180 really doesn't appeal to me though. Granted the cooling side does, but it just looks too plain. Although if it came in black...

    https://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=311800

where i bought it. Let me know if anyone else has had the same issues as me (especially on the door of the case being warped). Heres a picture

Now im not picking but for the money id expect more - and it takes from the whole look of it.

    Tsunami = nasty and tacky

Avoid like the plague. Not a nice case to work with.

The word "Thermaltake" before it should've been a giveaway :)

Black CM Stacker + 2x 4-in-3 modules + black Side window tbh.

Anyone got any idea when the new coolermaster stacker 830 will be shipping? ( http://www.coolermaster.com/product_common_images/830.pdf ) or any comp sites that are selling it now?

    my views on the P180 - http://www.custompc.ie/reviews.php?id=22&page=1

Cable management very difficult, but otherwise a class case.

    http://www.custompc.ie/reviews/22/8.jpg

The black one is only available in US as far as i know!
