I was wondering what Boards thought the most comfy runners are out there to buy, I need a good pair and the appearance of them isnt overly important. Ive heard good things about Lacoste. Ive pretty wide feet and getting a good pair of trainers can be tricky.

Is it for just casual wear like walking round town, nothing special like running track and field?

If so skate shoes are the most comfortable trainers/runners/shoes that I've ever worn.
Get yourself into Schuh and try their range of DC's, Vans, Duffs, Osiris and I think they stock DVS now.

New Balance are very comfortable and cool (as in not warm!)

By far the most comfortable runners I've ever owned are these Merrel ones.

Absolutely incredible comfort, I swear. I've walked some shocking distances in them (non intentional mostly!) and I swear you'd feel it everywhere but in your feet - I can't stress it enough. I got them about a year ago in Schuh (O'Connell St I think) and they cost 100 snots but they're worth every penny. They don't even look particularly worn at all, 12 months later.

At least try them on in a shop and see what you think.

I've got a pair of Dvs Hudson's which are really comfy, and are pretty wide. They were like €50 on sale in G1 (O'Connell street) and were €120 in Schuh, two doors down.

I've also got a pair of Nike Shox.. They cost €150 but they're worth every penny! They look kinda knackerish, but the comfort makes up for it. They're made of mainly mesh, and the bottom is sponge, with the shox at the back. They're great for just hanging around the house in, or even running etc. They breath easy and are light and comfy. Definitely try them on at least!

Gola trainers , I got a pair about 5 years ago they were so light and comfy , like wearing socks goin around , a nice pair is around 60e.
I had to stop wearing em because the top of em got burned , when I get some money together though I`ll be definetely getting a new pair!

i just got a pair of the skate style k swiss and they are super comfortable...got a pair of shox in the states a few years ago and they had the climacool kinda material in them and air bubbles at the front they were the most comfortable that i've had...the worst could well be the adidas tuscany (good year)!!

Ah I dunno personally id never buy adidas again , the last pair Im a size 5 so i went for a 6 felt grand in the shop , a few weeks later I noticed eveytime i wore em they were hurting my feet and just generally bad if ya were doing any long walking at all .Their just bad.

Nike are grand especially the cortex , there lovely to wear but my 1st choice would be gola , there just so light to wear , lovely.

never had a air of gola but see i kinda have to go for chunkier shoes cos i'm an 11 nd the light ones just look like canal boats...i found with the cortez that my big toe always left an imprint on the upper sole (is that what u call the bit u see when u look down at them i dunno) so they just looked stupid after a while...i'm a freak i know

You should try gola when your getting another pair , the ones I got were a nice material an even jogging and stuff they kept there shape well.

Dont you have to go + 1 size with most trainers? I know I do anyway! With Adidas its sometime + 2 size.

    Bad Runners
    Dockers runners

Has anyone tried the new Nike Free runners?: www.nike.com/nikefree/

I know they are for running etc. but with the flexible sole they look really comfortable.

No really shoe buying weaher at the moment. Always feel paranoid going in to try on shoes with hot and "clamy" feet

Depends what you want to wear them for.. Casual or Workout?

My Reeboks are really comfy to go to the gym in, go for a walk, etc.

Vans are really comfy lazing around in or walking around town in.
Buffalos are comfy as well but they're more a girl's shoe..

My fav have to be Skechers
Must own 5 pairs at this stage

Have a Gola pair as well - very comfy - don't even feel like you are wearing shoes!

A pair of proper running runners, because they're designed to take heavy impact so need the comfort, I find runners like the Nike Skylon and Asics 2090 very comfortable but there's also other such as the Nike Pegasus, Air Zoom Elite, pretty much anything with Bowerman on the insole, except the Nike Free, no support which will affect your comfort. There's also Asics runners such as the Kayano, Nimbus, 1100 and 2100, the follow up of the 1090 and 2090, or any Asics runners with Duomax as it offers support which aids comfort
