Who here has one, The Mazda MX-5.

I was thinking about buying the 1.8 Mk1 for about 7-8k, something for leisure driving like and i was going to modify it to for shows.

Are they VFM but whats the reliability like on them.

I just love the look of them i think they re a great under rated car.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

There was a huge thread here about the mx-5 and its competitors only a couple of weeks ago. We don't want the same shenanigans again. Do a search!

But come along to the Terenure Car show, there should be over 20 of them, some modded, some not, etc.

Its great, I love it! I don't know much about cars at all. If you read through that thread you will see what I mean. I liked the look of the MR2 especially in black but it was a bit out of my price range as this is my first car.

Its a nippy little devil, great fun to drive and I am obsessed with keeping it clean.

    Its a 99D MK2 1.8 6speed!

I prefer the Mk2 to the Mk1 myself.

Type in "mazda mx5" in the search window and hit enter. Fourth from the top ;)

Aren't you the guy who's 6'4"? Have you ever driven an MX5? I found it had less headroom than an MR2.

    Was it the car???? :D

Seriously look at that thread - but for reliability, a friend has a 12 year old version, and never a bit of bother, it's sailed through it's last two NCTs without anything to report
