Any chance of linking the M7 to the M4?

    Hi

I was just wondering; is there any chance of the M7 being linked with the M4?

I work in Intel and drive up/down each day. I take the turn-off at Naas and head into Sallins using the back roads and from there on to Clane and then the M4 etc.

Does anybody know if there are any plans to link up the 2 motorways? Would this be part of the current work being undertaken at Johnstown/Kill on the N7/M7?

Building a motorway just for you? :D

There is in infamous Outer Orbital Route which was in the DTO 'Platform for Change' document which proposed to link Naas to Drogheda via Kilcock, Trim, Navan. This route has recently been brought back to life by Bertie himself.

The nearly complete Outer Ring Road connects Kingswood and Lucan.

they are linked closer to Dublin by the M50 and the new outer ring road. they may be linked someday by the proposed M40 but it took 30 years for the M50 to get from proposal to completion and the M40 has only recently been proposed.

(not that i'm convinced that an outer bypass motorway is needed - the vast majority of the traffic on the M50 is Dublin traffic)

That in itself is worrying. I mean, the roof could fall in or something. On the plus side, if he gets Rohcon to build it there's a good chance the water won't stay on it either. :D

laoisfan, it'll have to be the outer orbital thingy for you. Expect completion in September 2047, or maybe a couple of months early in July 2056.
