I have a '94 BMW, E36. The car alarm won't work at all since I got my battery replaced. It had gone flat beforehand so I was wondering if this has contributed to the problem. Is there a reset button or similar for car alarms??

Sounds like you need to get the alarm code to re set it.

Did the radio work when you changed the battery.

Depends on the alarm, might have to bring it back to BMW Stealer to get a code.

Is it an aftermarket alarm, has someone simply turned it off at the alarm head............or is this too obvious for ya ! ?

Yes most aftermarket alarms have a manual override system of shutting them off.
