well i was 17 the first time lasted 14 of the 16 wks recruit training and found it hard so i said i,ll give it a few years and come back and thats what i,m doing. i take it that it cavalry that training cos there was a cav officer on the interview panel when i got interviewed last year in clonmel. there,s a regular sqdn there as well not just f.c.a. that barracks also holds the fca hq for the southern command area

Officers that make up interview boards can come from any unit in the brigade not just in clonmel, the 1st cav were in collins in cork the last time i was there :D

it doesnt really matter if they are cav or 12bn its all the same training, best of luck with it :D

jez the abuse and for your info the irish army are very well trained in fact the irish army ranger wing are the second best special forces unit in the world before the sas,or delta or us rangers and are regarded as the best peace keeping force in the world. why do u think there,s a U.N. international training collage in the curragh??? if we,re useless then the brits or the yanks must be terrible cos we better than them even though they might have better and more expensive equipment than ours.

the U.N. would prefer to send the irish into a war torn country before the brits or the yanks for the simple fact is that the irish army are respected worldwide and would be welcomed anywhere

For gods sake just read that: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=277267

Phelo just calls everyone a smartass after his own atempth to be a smartass backfired and his lack of knowledge made him look the dumbass. And learn how to write English phelo.

Ok, i may have over abused, i agree the Irish army arent all idiots.

I don't see the point of slagging off someones choice of career. The Irish defence forces are small yes, and personally I'm not a fan of how they are run. But they are well regarded internationally, even if they don't have the battle honors of other Armies.

Well done, phelo05. Hope it all works out for you. But you need to grow up a bit based on that other thread.

I hope the army teach him to be stealthier.

If setting up a new account to get around a ban, don't bloody well say you've done so in another forum. That's just stupid.
