Yeah, me too. I'm only 15 and this year will be my 5th year at the Gaelteacht. To be perfectly honest, it's the best 3 weeks of my year every year, up in the wesht (Carraroe, Coláise Chiarán), and I'm the same as you. Spoken Irish is more or less grand, written's not the greatest. Just to remedy you, it's not 'An chuaigh', it's 'ar ndeachaigh'. smile.gif

chuaigh mise go dtí gaeltach éigin nuair a bhí mé i mblian a sé sa mbunscoil, ní cuimhin liom morán faoin am a chaith mé ann, ach bhí am maith agam, tá a fhios agam sin.
Ní mbeidh mórán suim agam níos mó am a chaitheamh i gaeltacht áfach, tá gaeilge sort maith agam agus ní mbeidh suim agam freastail ar áit de dheasca teanga éigin..
má raibh gníomhaíochtaí suimiúl ar siúl in Éireann trí mheán na Ghaeilge, beidh suim agam imeacht chucu, is teanga álainn é agus is mór an trua í nach bhfuil suim ag níos mó daoine inti.

RE: "Ar chuaigh/An ndeachaigh" - While 'An ndeachaigh' is grammatically correct, I've heard people from the Gaeltacht use both.

Last time I went to the Gaeltacht was 2 years ago to An Rinn for a weekend. Well, technically - I was in Cultúrlann and the surrounding area - which could be considered a Gaeltacht - so last year :)

I'm going to Ráth Cairn next month and then Connemara the month after that.

Ar aon nós - gach gaeltacht a bhí mé go dtí seo, go deas ar fad! Áiteanna spéisiúil, gan dabht.. A lán craic ann agus gach duine an-cairdiúil. Tá siad saghas seanfhaiseanta, ach is maith liom iad cosúil le sin..

Mise in Rinn. (Cad atá ceart? San Rinn? San An Rinn? I Rinn nó In Rinn?)
