Starting a website

    HI,
    Have tried building a simple website on Powerpoint for a project and saved as HTML - whats the next steps to getting it live eg uploading the pages etc...- was thinking of going with letshost.ie as they are very cheap??

    You can use free web hosting with www.brinkster.com or www.freewebs.com.

    You'll need to upload all your files to the web hosts directory, make sure you place the index.html/default.html (or whatever the name of the first page is) to the root, and the place the related folder, which contains the rest of the files, in the root also. Thats about it.

    They do actually seem like a good host... You just may want to make sure that they have uptime guarantees...

    grasshopa - Lets Host display their uptime stats on their site. Completely independant availability checking is carried out by Alertra. There is a link on the left side of every page on the www.Letshost.ie website.

    if you're building a website using powerpoint - i'm guessing that free hosting will do.
    eircom,esat,etc all offer free hosting
