    My favourite day....

I wrote big write up a few moments ago...then theraacing post desktop betting went down and dragged everything with it....

I'll write the first selection quick cause its in the 1.45

Woolfall Blue has the best form in the race. If a newcomer is gonna beat it, it's going to have a rating in the 90s and I dont see a horse making its debut at folkstone today gonna be as good as that so the fav is a certainty...

    more to follow...

The highest rated horse in the 7.45 at doncaster tonight is 70 so we're definitely gonna turn to the newcomers for a winner and the early money for Stoute's FINAL VERSE tells me that this could be the one today....

The 1.55 at Newmarket today is between PRIVATE BUSINESS and HORATIO NELSON and I'm going to give the nod to Aidan O Briens. A smart two year old, the word is pretty good for this one in Cashel and the horse that finished 2nd to Private Business in his debut finished 14 of 14 yesterday so......

    So far:

Apologies for the messed up write ups...it looked neater a bit earlier...

    1.45 WOOLFALL BLUE
    1.55 HORATIO NELSON
    7.45 FINAL VERSE

I hope your right on Horatio Nelson, I've had a terrible few days and am praying for this one to get me out of a hole. It's debut was most impressive, if it can come on from that it must go close.

I just wish every once in a while O'Brien would give us some indication of a horses ability, a idea of how this one compares to George Washington and Ivana Denisovich would be most helpful to punters.

Wolfall blue drifts wide across the course and throws his chances away. Lovely.

That's two and bit days losses all recovered in one go, I had a few quid on Yasoodd to place as well, I thought the jockey arrangements on the Channon horses were most interesting.

    Some win that by Horatio...

    Last one:

    4:15 - Johnny the Fish

Bit of a slow progressor this one but gradually beginning to learn his job. Finished about 9 lengths behind Ivan Denisovich and To Sender on his debut.....was wel supported for his next outing, again over 6 and showed improvement to stay on near the end. His 3rd and latest race was on the 6th June and showed that he was ready to go about the business of winning races. 3rd behind assertive, who's since gone on to win again, Johnny The Fish was trapped on the rail behind the winner at a crucial stage but ran on well when switched to the outside. Running on well in 3 attempts over 6 furlongs....time to bring him up to 7 furlongs and get a win under his belt. Today should be the day.

An each way selection that jumps out for me in the 2:30 is Pivotal Flame at around 16/1. He finished only 3/4 of alength behind Galeota at 2.5 behind Indasatchel in the Greenham at Newbury a few months back. On that he looks extremely well handicapped considering what Galeota and Indasatchel have done since. He goes off bottom weight today.

His last few runs were on ground too firm for him and can be ignored. I think he could be a cracking good bet.

damn fade i just missed that one.. so you think johnny has a good chance..

Obviously don't have time to look at every race today but that seems like good reasoning to me MasterK. Any form within three lengths of indesatchel sounds good to me.

    Defintely a place at worst.

A quick look at the 2.30...

I think at a massive price Appalachian Trail has place prospects here. Beaten a few lengths by ballast 2nd from last time out. Meets him again today on better terms, trip an ground should be no worries, lost his action last time out so has excuses for that, may sneak a place here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,306 ✭✭✭blahblah06

WOW photo finish. come on flame. 3rd place..

    Newmarket 3.05
    Quito e/w
    Leitrim House e/w

Leitrim House is carrying a slightly heavier weight that what it's used to.
I've really fancied it since beating Milk It Mick on the 3rd of April last year.
Won it's last race as the 3/1 2nd favourite by 1/2 a length on 12th of June, beating Yomalo over 6 furlongs on good to firm ground. Running on good to soft today, I think it will handle it fairly well. I really fancy it's chances of being placed.

    :o

    Folkestone 4.00
To me, Millinsky stands out far from everything else in this race. Looking down through the scorecard I notice Stargem, who I have in my notebook for some reason - of course undocumented :o

    Milinsky to win
    Stargem each way.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,230 ✭✭✭scojones

    Warwick 5.25
    Gallego

I don't see anything stand in it's way today, the only horse that will get close is Sand Iron

    Gallego win
    Sand Iron e/w

    I might become a bookie!!

Hah, gawd it's tough to pick a winner!

Luckily won 40euro in that race as had a last minute dabble on the winner...

    :D

    Pastoral Pursuits @ 26 1.00 26.00 won
    Pastoral Pursuits @ 7 2.00 14.00 won

    Sweet!

    I had Frontlinefinancier @ 9/2 for the 3:25 Folkstone.
Just watching the live betting on it b4 the race and went with it big

Made up yesterdays and earlier today losses.

Watched a stable tour with Michael Bell recently and this Nantyglo could be a good each way proposition. out of mark of esteem..so may need the ground a little firmer....place prospects though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,757 ✭✭✭masterK

Just having a quick look over the form of Pastoral Persuits and I have to say it was there for all to see. From 5 runs over 6 Furlongs it had won 4 and was 2nd in the other. Wish I'd noticed that before the race.

    Musselburgh 6.50 What A Dancer
waaaay ahead of anything in this race. Should win by a country mile.

Goodwood 2.50 Fire Up The Band
I've always fancied this horse. If it wasn't racing today I would be going with Moss Vale.

    Goodwood 3.25 Lost Soldier Three
This race could be anyone's to be honest. Expect a very tight pack with 1.5f left to go, at which stage Fallon should get this beast to do the business.

    Goodwood 4.00 Comic Strip
Mark Prescott horse. Beaten once and won 5. Prescott did well with spectait, I expect the same with Comic Strip.

    Stratford 4.10 Donovan

    Stratford 4.45 College City

choose Moss Vale myself.....was going to pick Fire up the Band!!!

only because Moss Vale dropped in class just decided it for me....aggghhhh!!!

Well done with Fire up the Band jonesy.....today was the only day in his last 6 races where I haven't backed him. Makes sense I guess.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,230 ✭✭✭scojones

Cheers boss. Lets hope my other two selections at goodwood come in, along with my selection for the 6.50 at Musselburgh.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,230 ✭✭✭scojones

Lost Soldier Three never really got into the race. Fallon tried to get it moving but got no response. Distinction did very well to break ahead towards the end despite the fast pace which was set early on. Watch out for Golden Quest, that horse is going into my notebook, finished second and very nearly beat Distinction. Very impressive.

Just received a long shot for today; Ashkal Way e/w 4.00 Goodwood. Not sure how reliable this tip is. Currently 3.6 the place on betfair.

Ashkal Way 2nd at 10/1 congrats bateman.
