Lads, if you can recommend me some good instructional DVDs, that would be excellent. Preferably something that Amazon.com have in stock, so link me up!

I've already got John Petrucci's Rock Discipline and Marty Friedman's Melodic Control. I also hope to get Marty's new DVD and perhaps something by Rusty Cooley, but Amazon don't have either.

    So any ideas?

Anything in the way of Theory would be interesting too.

Is Marty'a new one, The 99 Secrets of something or other? If so I've heard its not that useful. Try Michael Angelo Batio's Speed Lives or Speed Kills. He may be a tasteless fretwanker but he does have excellent technique.

Aye, that's another one I'd have to order from his site, or some obscure label. I wish music stores had better stock of instructional vids. Quite right though, Michael Angelo's vid is definetly something I'll have to try out.

I read some reviews (will try to dig them up) and Marty's new DVD is supposed to be excellent actually, much better than Melodic Control. I think he was selling it directly on his website, too, iirc.

    www.martyfriedmandvd.com

I personally dislike having to order from singular websites for singular products though, but I suppose it's a problem of distrobution. I'd feel far safer if I could order Marty's and Michael Angelo's DVDs from amazon or the like. Might see if I can get a few from ebay, but Marty's I'll likely have to order directly.

I really liked Melodic Control, I thought he had far more feeling than Petrucci, so I'm very eager to get the new one.
