Linksys - Belkin Connection Difficulties

I've got a Toshiba laptop, with a Belkin Wireless Card installed. The card will detect my wireless LAN (I'm using a LinkSys Wireless Broadband Router) but it won't let me connect to the network! Anyone help? This is incredibly frustrating!

Sounds like the router is unable to give you an ip. First of all on the laptop, is the configurations on the wireless nic set to 'obtain ip automatically'. and secondly is wep turned off on both ap and laptop for the moment?
