I took it down........ to chinatown.

Chalk up another victory for the pokah king :)
Pretty sh it turnout so I only ended up with 700 euros for 1st.
    Standard wasn't great for a 100euro game.

Unlucky paul! didn't see the hand but I saw u storm off! must have been bad.

Bad beat at our table near the start too. 2 people all in with 10 7 10 4 on board.
    Player 1 (fitz dealer): 4 4
    Player 2 (divers?):7 7

River....... you know its a 4. Thats a 1 outer baby!

Anyway, thats another win under the belt (1st proper win where I played to the end)

5000euro in a week........ gotta go pimp my ride!

Yes yes, that was me...to lose the house on the river to quads was quite painful to watch...I didn't even make it to the free food!!
Should have pushed on the flop straight away me thinks...He was betting very heavily with pocket 4's...would have been a nice pot too...
Ah well, the joys of it eh?

Paul you sound the way I felt when I saw that 4 on the river...Who put you out? What was the hand?
Nice win Rory...good week for you!

    Dave

Well done Rory! Now at least we can look forward to hearing a new story, right...? :D

Did I storm off? I wasn't in the mood for hanging around, let me tell you! But at least I got some sleep and am as fresh as a daisy...ah, no point trying to see the bright side.

I had been playing well (why do my bad beat stories always start the same way :)) and was up to a little over 6k in chips from a starting stack of 4k (30 minute blind levels, for those interested), average stack was 4.5k at this stage (16? runners, 2 gone by the end of level 2). The chap to my immediate right was a fairly poor player, wasn't 100% sure of what he was doing, and limped with at least 80% of his hands. He had lost a lot earlier limping with 8 4d and chasing a flush draw (two others in the hand, one of whom was drawing to the nut flush), but was so aggressive that he kept pushing people off pots and became the table chip leader. Early in level 2 he donated 2k to me after limping in with J J and calling all my raises on a K high board (I was holding K 10 I think). At this stage I was over the moon to have such a player on my right, pay day I thought!

So by the end of level 2, he and I were table chip leaders, he had me just about covered. I found myself with K Qo, and 4 of us limped in. Flop came K K A rainbow. It was checked around to him, who bet 500 (more than the pot), I called. Turn was 10 (still no flush draws). He checked (knew from his play this meant he wasn't confident of being in front), I bet 500, he re-raised to 1500 and I immediately pushed. He thought about it for a while, said 'I have to do it, even though...' and called for almost all his chips. The winner of this pot would be tournament chip leader. He flipped A 8o. According to twodimes.net I was 95.45% favourite. You know the rest.

No, I *just* about managed to semi-congratulate him by patting him on the back (or something equally awful) before stumbling off. It might have been funny for the other players had I earnestly congratulated him for the brilliant call and mention I hoped we play together again, but there's no point being a dick about it.

    Hi Iona,

was that the guy sitting to the right of the dealer? He didn`t make it into the money, if it was him. I don`t think it was me. :-)

    Turnout was only 17 people. Money was 700, 400, 300, 200, 100.

I was hoping they would add some money, but unfortunately they didn`t.

I came second in the end. Would have taken it happily from the start, but on the way back I was not really happy.

Was chipleader for quite a bit at the final table, but I couldn`t win any races. Down to the last 3 roryc went all in with 2 diamonds (I think some low ones even). I called him with AT or KT, and he flops a flush.

Few hands later, down to two, he goes all in, I call (not sure anymore what I had, but it was def. better then his hand). He turns over something like 68 and flops the str8.

Yeah, but still enjoyable, but a pity that the turnout was this low. On monday they apearantly expected still 40 people.

    Well done, roryc.

    Well done roryc,

Ionapaul the same gimp knocked me out with A8o as well, i was sitting to your left. i had a pair of aces and a nut flush draw and i bet 500 he came straight back over with 2000 more, (way over what was in the pot) i thought to myself that this tosser has been pushing people off pots all night and i had a pain in my a ss with him so i called. needless to say he put me all in (only another 1000) and then paired his kicker to give him two pair and no flush for me.
    he only had three outs.
But i won a few hundred in the cash game later and laughed my ass off when i saw him getting booted out before the money.

yeah they were hoping for a better turnout, a load of people who said that they would be there didn't turn up.

But it was there first monthly game so it is sure to get better.

blind structure should have been 15/20 min blinds

I played this one myself last night and got fourth, not very impressive i know but the cards just werent there for me. This was my first time in the mayfair and i have to say i liked it, half hour blind levels a waitress with a great set of pins and decent dealers made for a good night and i will be back for the next €100 freeze.

well done rory on the win. On another note allthough in the end it worked for me I thought the payout was spread too far, 18 runners and five paid? That beat was nasty paul how he called the all in knowing he was drawing nearly dead ill never know
