Hey, I'm thinking of either starting guitar or bass soon enough, I have some of the basics by playing my friends instruments, I already have a decent acoustic here but am looking for an electric. Can somebody reccomend a good guitar or bass for about 300? that doesn't include an amp as I can get a good deal on one myself,…

Hey,

I'm thinking of either starting guitar or bass soon enough, I have some of the basics by playing my friends instruments, I already have a decent acoustic here but am looking for an electric. Can somebody reccomend a good guitar or bass for about 300? that doesn't include an amp as I can get a good deal on one myself, I don't like the Yamaha Pacifica, the fret board is too short, it just doesn't suit.

Mainly soft rock, but a small bit of harder stuff, I've been recommended to get a a Fender Strat as I know someone selling second hand, but I've also seen some nice bass's, just can't think what they were.
