As a trainee myself, why is it that all trainee's in this career are paid so poorly.

Its a bit of a joke.

The Sunday Business Post did a supplement of college courses and prospective careers. They stated starting Average salary for a trainee accountant was 35,000e a yr.

Id like to know where they got that Average from. Maybe its a mis print maybe thats 35,000e over a training period of three years now that would make more sense

It's when you get experience and qualify that you'll be able to charge stupidly high fee's and then get paid loads.

Its because of your trainee status. See just a wee bit down that page.

Qualify then another couple of years afterwards to get practicing certificate.

Wouldnt pay too much attention to that tbh. Of course it depends where you are working.

Also depends you are working in a practice or in industry.(More money in industry)

Awh i know the story will get better over time i have no doubt about that, its very poor thats all really. Am working in practice. I have to say though the practice am working in, the experience i am getting is worth gold like.

Trainning a year now after finishing college with an accounting degree. Have been exposed to everything that happens within a practice, tax, audit, accounts, admin, you name it.

But the bitch is that i have to work a part time job to makes ends meat as they say.

My mate is trainning as a chippie and he's in the same boat as me. But someday we'll hit the big bucks.
