In Jesse May's latest article on Cardplayer.com he's talking about who will win the ME. I know the lads went to Padraig's party so........

But the biggest intangible, in my mind, is out and out form. Chris Ferguson mentioned how important it was for him to have won a bracelet in 2000 in the lead up to the main event. You can’t knock form, and it’s a hard thing to measure. Some call it luck, some call it a good run, but it means everything. Give me a player in form and I’d like to match him up against someone twice his size who’s been running a bit salty. It’ll never be a fair fight, form wins the day. And there’s a whole bunch of players bringing a whole bunch of form to this main event that aren’t even recognized. Lots of talk was made about Moneymaker coming in on a $40 satellite into the main event. The fact is that he was in very good form. Carlos Mortensen won the Shooting Stars tournament as his prelude to the WSOP in 2001, and he had the confidence of the world. Poker history is littered with WSOP champions being players in form. I’ll tell you who I like. I like the guys who have won Internet freeroll events to make their way into the World Series of Poker. Do you know how hard it is to win a freeroll event, in which there are a multitude of players and only one seat given away and all the rest get nothing? It takes skill, nerves, but mostly out and out form. I met a kid yesterday, not much past twenty-one, who won a Pokerstars FPP (frequent player points) freeroll to get into the tournament. This tournament is one of the toughest on the Internet, with a slow blind structure and a true knee crunching finish. I’m betting bracelet winners and freeroll mavens, that’s my game, bet the guys in form.

At the same time you need an incredible amount of luck in those freeroll things. Skill only comes into it the later levels of the tournament. But the guys who win bracelets in the run up to the ME, that's a different story.

[edit] Didn't even read the title :) I've no idea.

I have a funny feeling that Oscar will get in the money. He has the game and can play all styles well. I put €2 on Hasin Habib and €2 on John Juanda with Paddy Power to reach the final table.

Btw, have you got a piece of Oscar, Biteme ? Or does anyone ?

Fair play to ye. Its nice to have the added interest.

Here's my last WSOP tip. If Stormin brings his A game with him and doesn't piss away his chips, he also could make the money.

BTW, I know Mark and the O'Callaghan brothers are excellent players also, its just I haven't played against them too much so I don't know their styles as well as Oscar's and Stormins.

Anyway, would love to see them all do well. Fingers crossed.

    It is Oscar.
At the party Oscar was keen to not be interviewed by the cameras, so when the cameras came around myself and Dave O'C grabbed Oscar by the elbows and shoved him forward. Jesse was chatting to us for a good while afterwards and Oscar told him how he got his ticket (cos Dave and I kept drunkenly claiming Oscar was going to win and we have a % of him). Jesse was very impressed!

So there you go, its our Oscie!

    DeV.
