Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Deennis looks like it's gonna turn into a beast

Most models suggest a Cat 4 Hurricane within 4 days

Expected to crash acrss Jamaica and Cuba than into the GM
where it could hit the US between Texas and Florida

    Watch out!

Dennis is now a hurricane. I reckon the US landfall will be western florida.

Hurricane warnings have been issued for Haiti, Jamaica, and southern Cuba.

hurricane watches are in effect for central cuba, and the cayman islands.

Am going to add media outlet for the Caymans here as that is where Dennis looks like it is going

Radio station - Vibe FM - Cayman Islands

hurricane watch for the cayman islands has been upgraded to a hurricane warning.

    advisory
    http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh/MIATCPAT4+shtml/070241.shtml?

There is still a possibility that Dennis could reach category 2 status before it makes landfall on Jamaica.

it's expected that Dennis could be classed as a Cat 5 Hurricane before
making lanfall in the US.. i reckon the panhandle..

Long time to go but Dennis have absolute perfect conditions
to turn into a Cat 5.. Most models make Dennis a Cat 4 or Cat 5 with
Ships Model turning Dennis into a 165knt Hurricane before US Landfall  ;)

Can't find any webcams for Jamaica or Cuba but here's one in Key West I remember from last year's season. There are more webcams linked off that page.

There was a TV station in Florida that broadcast live on the web too. Wall to wall hurricane coverage. Must track it down in time for Saturday when it looks like skim by the keys.

And here's a map of Key West with various webcams plotted out.

Dennis should be a CAT 2 soon and has nothing to hinder it's intensification.

Currently it has 90knt+ winds and is passing Jamaica.

Should stay off the west of Florida and hit the Florida/Georgia
border well around there as a Cat3/4 or even 5 Hurricane.

Dennis now at Cat 3 should be a CAT 4 as it makes landfall in Cuba

Could be a beast as it moves into the GOM although some
weakening over Cuba may occur for a time.. ;)

Hurricane Dennis will weaken while it crosses Cuba, but will re - intensify to a Category 4 gurricane as it enters the Gulf of Mexico.

just a quick not to mention that Cuban media is reporting 10 fatalities as a result of Hurricane Dennis.

back up to category 3 and heading in the direction of mobile alabama. a little jog to the west could put southern louisiana in trouble again only weeks after Cindy passed over.

oh by the way there is another tropical wave west of the lesser antilles islands. the NHC is predicting a slow development. could be emily in the making.

It's category 4 now according to fox news as I see now here on sky digital and they are reporting from several points and also the nat hurricane centre.
It's max wind speed is now 145 mph which is getting within 10mph of a cat 5 hurricane.
This will be stronger(wind wise) than Ivan when it reaches land, though in size its smaller and they are expecting flooding all the way up to ohio aas it spends a day or two dropping several inches of rain in the mid west.

its live now, it wasnt earlier, must have been a technical issue, it was showing reports from last night when I clicked on it, but it seems to be live now. actually running better than the channel 5 stream.

It looks like it isn't live now - it's starting at 10.20am every time I try it. You can always watch the guy on the beach on Fox News anyway...

Edit: They're back in business now. You'd think they were in the middle of a hurricane...
